Project Overview

REPOTECH is a web application designed to simplify the tracking of research projects within platforms. The application also serves as a bridge between future users (Ph.D. students / researchers / industry professionals) and platform managers, facilitating feasibility requests (technical inquiries), supported by a system for reviews and discussion among managers. If a platform accepts the feasibility request, it can be converted into a project.

On the user interface, any registered user can submit project requests, feasibility requests, manage their ongoing projects, add information, and much more.

On the administrative side

On the administrative side, all platform managers can access information based on their permissions, including for project management, pending requests, and statistics. Each piece of information can be exported from the website to spreadsheet file formats such as XLSX or CSV.

Timeline of the Project

April 2020

The RENATECH network commissioned a redesign of its legacy project management application. Development began in April 2020, following the hiring of a web developer on a fixed-term contract to bolster a team already working on other projects.

2021

Monthly meetings were established in the form of video conferences, bringing together a working group dedicated to the design of the software. These meetings made it possible to adopt an Agile approach to develop a tool that best meets the network's needs, while harmonizing work methods. The goal was also to avoid developing platform-specific features.

January 1, 2022

Launch of the first version of REPOTECH for the network RENATECH. It introduces the ability for users to submit feasibility requests, with more detailed and comprehensive project management. A migration process made it possible to transfer data from the old database (2013–2021).

2023

Improvements and recognition of the project REPOTECH. The development of numerous features, including the generation of statistics, has enabled the network RENATECH to better promote its activities. The success of the project, carried out over the long term with participants across France, was recognized by the CNRS, which awarded the team REPOTECH a Crystal Collective.

2024

Development of the feasibility module and integration with other networks. The feasibility system has been redesigned as a collaborative tool, allowing all power plants in the network to comment and evaluate a project, in addition to the simple 'Accepted / Rejected' status. The application has also been simplified and optimized with the aim of offering REPOTECH to other platform networks beyond RENATECH.

2025

Opening of REPOTECH to other platform networks. The REPOTECH project and its database have been revised to meet the needs of platforms (alone) and networks of platforms.

2026

REPOTECH was put into operation on January 1, 2026, for the network of microwave characterization platforms RF-NET. A complete redesign to improve the design, usability, and maintainability of the site has been completed.
