An initial proof of concept is being developed to record transactions on the platform. CROSS consists solely of electronic components, with no connection to a web server. The goal was to electrically control the equipment on the micro- and nano- manufacturing platform (CMNF) at the IEMN, in order to restrict access to untrained users.

First production run of the cases CROSS. The first unit is installed on some of the equipment at the CMNF platform of the IEMN. The PoC is housed in a plastic enclosure with a touchscreen, allowing the equipment to be selected and controlled. An initial web server has been set up to record data from the devices and verify whether the user is properly trained on the selected equipment.

Resuming development to organize the project CROSS. A overhaul of the program has been launched to manage all of the CMNF's equipment at the IEMN, while while preparing for a future deployment on other platforms in the network RENATECH. All non-standard components are removed to make the solution more generic. This step marks the end of “proof-of-concept” development and the start of a larger-scale project, featuring a new data architecture , the use of a framework, and the hiring of a web developer on a fixed-term contract.

Launch of the first version of CROSS within the CMNF of the IEMN for the launch of the new billing period. Numerous developments have been implemented to optimize the application, the storage of procedures, and pricing management. The tool is now capable of automatically calculating the estimated cost of a procedure, based on the recorded data and the auditable pricing defined by the platform, the unit, and the regional office. At the same time, the electronic component has also been improved to increase robustness and simplicity.

Redesign of the web server to speed up development. The redesign of the first web server of CROSS enables faster and more efficient development of features that have become essential, such as the generation of statistics or quotes. The quotes are generated in the form of EXCEL spreadsheets, listing all the tasks of a project over a given period, with detailed and total cost estimates. They can then be exported as PDF files in A4 portrait format, for quick and easy sharing with partners.

Solution deployment CROSS. The development of this product is moving into an industrial phase, with the assembly of the devices outsourced to an external contractor. This step enables production in larger quantities in preparation for deployment on other platforms CNRS Engineering, including the Micro- and Nanotechnology Platform at LAAS-CNRS and Mimento at FEMTO-ST. It also helps reduce costs, thanks to the outsourcing of parts sourcing and the use of plastics processing to manufacture housings in series.

Solution deployment CROSS.

The RENATECH platforms of the LAAS and FEMTO-ST have been equipped with the solution, which went live on July 1, 2026. Numerous developments have been implemented to adapt the solution to everyone's needs, notably with booking options, authentication, proxies, the generation of purchase order requests, and the export of data to EXCEL format. Other development and deployment requests are currently being handled by the projects team.
